Woohoo! I am officially 12 weeks pregnant. I think that means I’m through the biggest risk period of the pregnancy, but each day seems to be another lucky miracle. Bring on the second trimester!

Francine, You Have Been Set Free (10 weeks)

Well, Mark has already written the Ultrasound entry. Needless to say, it was amazing. I was personally surprised to see a little peanut (it really does look like a peanut!) moving around, flapping its cute little “arms”. It looked like a little baby!

Now, Mark wanted to tell the entire universe about the baby the first second he found out we were pregnant. I thought it more prudent to wait until the risk of miscarriage was over (12 weeks or so). As one of the our first parenting challenges, we came to a compromise and decided to share the news with our extended families and friends upon visual confirmation (ie: first ultrasound). Of course, the apple does not fall far from the tree, and Mark’s mom, Francine, was chomping at the bit to spread this glorious news. And now, the time has come! So, Mark and I called her up and said, “Francine, you are free to spread the news!” Very exciting milestone!
