Ruby Jumps, Creeps, and Rolls!

For the past month, Ruby has been working hard at developing some very important motor and sensory skills. Ruby loves to sit up and play with the toys at her feet (If there aren’t any toys around, her feet do just fine.) She puts everything she can grab in her mouth (including her feet!), and now that she is on the cusp of crawling and can already roll from her back to her stomach, Mom and I are scrambling to baby-proof the house.

Ruby has stuck to her New Year’s Resolution and sleeps through most nights (sleeping through is down at 7PM, up at 4AM but we aren’t complaining one bit). She is an eating machine and powers through 30 ounces of milk a day and 4-6 tablespoons of rice cereal on top of that! She had her first taste of banana this week and has earned her nickname “Chunky Monkey.”

When she’s not eating, napping, or practicing her stomach crunches, Ruby loves bouncing in her jumpster to the beat of her favorite jam bands. No pictures this time, but I am posting a bunch of video clips! Enjoy!

In the middle of a dinner party this weekend, Ruby amazed her guests by unexpectedly rolling from her back to her stomach. Dad couldn’t trade his glass of wine for his camera fast enough so we only got the aftermath on video:

Ruby’s first taste of bananas. She made it clear that we should NOT try to mix them with rice cereal…
