Mom & Dad
Dad
Mark Sadecki (soon to be DAD) is a self-employed Web Accessibility Consultant. Mark has been preparing for his new role since he developed the social skill of empathy (somewhere around age 3), and has been very eager to pass on his moral values, left-wing ideology, and passion for music, art, the great outdoors, and technological gadgetry to his progeny for as long as he can remember. Although he has no first hand parenting experience, Mark has been taking very close notes from his own parents since he developed the skill of writing (age 6 or 7). Francine, and the late and great Charlie had unparalleled parenting intuition which resulted in two very well adjusted and loving sons (ummm, that would be me and Jim). When he is not busy helping people make their websites accessible to the disabled, Mark enjoys fly-fishing, DIY home improvement, Geocaching, Technology, pottery, and Backpacking and he hopes his “kid” does, too. If your curiosity is piqued and you want to know more about this guy, Mark maintains (somewhat infrequently) a personal blog at www.sadecki.com.
Mom
Nancy (soon to be MOM) is an architect at the Boston architecture firm Meyer and Meyer. Most recently she has been reading an average of one pregnancy book per month, writing in her pregnancy journal, shopping for maternity clothes, and rubbing her little belly (a lot). Pregnancy has not deterred her on the path to becoming a licensed architect. She has currently studied for and passed 5 of the 9 required exams. She also enjoys gardening, photography, home renovation projects and scrambling after Mark on his geocaching adventures. She looks forward to playing Candy Land with her son or daughter (she used to carry the board game around under her arm like a briefcase, looking for potential victims), arts and crafts projects (she’s envisioning diaramas and cardboard picture frames made with dried macaroni), and hugging the crap out of that little bugger. She is hoping her propensity towards organization and efficient schedules will finally be put to good use in her new role as parent. According to Nanny 911, it will be! More than likely, though, she’ll probably have to get used to complete disorganization and learning to roll with whatever comes her way!
